When I was very young, I spent much of my free time designing clothes for my paper dolls. I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. However, I became a nurse due to practical reasons.
Even though I worked in the medical field for many years, I enrolled in art classes and workshops whenever possible. I became hooked on pottery and sculpture, which allowed me to express my feelings by working with my hands and the clay. I created vessels and figures, many of which were angels. I sold those sculptures in art shows and galleries.
My life brought some tremendous ups and downs, which often happen to everyone. When I began working with cold wax and oil, I experienced a similar feeling as I did when working with the clay. The experience of my hands creating texture, color, and figures or designs became my joy again.
Since my move to North Carolina about three years ago, I look forward to discovering different avenues to share my artwork and to spend time with my loving family.
BACKGROUND
After many years of art workshops, college and online studies, and using various mediums, I feel I am now an artist. I love color, abstract design, and the feeling of pure joy I experience when working on a painting. I find that this medium is my passion; bringing me to a blank board, seeing the creamy texture of the paint, and surprising myself with the figures and textures that appear in my paintings. I feel truly content to come full circle to my childhood desire.
